A Chakra Goes Missing

I had an interesting experience during my creating process for this Chakra design. First I created the meditation pose and then did some research on the appropriate colors to align with the different parts of the body for the chakras. I had the image almost complete and then became involved with other tasks.

My 5:30 a.m. morning routine is to swim for 40 minutes at a local health club. This particular morning, at the end of my swim, as I got out of the pool suddenly I was so dizzy I could hardly stand up and staggered to the locker room. I sat quietly on a bench with my head in my hand praying for this “attack” to go away. I did not want to call attention to myself and figured if I were just quiet for a while I would start to feel better. After a while one of the women I usually see around this same time came in from her swim. I must have looked weird sitting there with my head in my hands because Judith asked if I were alright. I told her I was dizzy. She took a shower, returned to where I was sitting and stood in back of me as she moved her hands slowly over and around my body without touching. Then she made the pronouncement that my chakras were out of alignment and further elaborated that she had studied Reiki.

Reiki is one of the more widely known forms of energy healing. Energy Healing involves direct application of Chi for the purpose of strengthening the clients energy system (aura). Chi is the term used by the Chinese mystics and martial artists for the underlying force the Universe is made of. Mystics in all cultures have talked about the physical universe being made of an underlying form of something, much as modern physics research is now coming to understand the Universe is made of energy which is subject to (or affected by) thought. Just as modern physics says this energy is affected by thought the mystics also say this underlying form is affected by thought, going so far as to claim we create our own reality from our thinking and the thoughts we share between each of us every day.” For more on this click here

When Judith told me that my chakras were out of alignment what astonished me was the fact that I had been working on an image that incorporated all the chakras. Judith had no clue about my work nor did I have any idea that she had studied Reiki and the significance of chakras. I immediately told her what I had been working on with an illustration for the purpose of selling in a T-shirt and how amazed I was at the synchronicity of this event. She told me that my second chakra was what was wrong. She said that she felt that I was sending out a lot of heat in that area. Something was wrong. She didn’t claim to know what.Yoga Chakra Meditation

Judith continued with running her hands around the space next to my body as I sat quietly. I was still not feeling well at all and was grateful that someone was there. Slowly I began to feel better. After a while I drove home as Judith followed me in her car just to make sure got home safely. I went to bed and slept for a while.

But the most amazing thing is what I discovered when I felt well enough to go back to work on my image of the meditation pose with all the colors of the chakras radiating out, By mistake I had left the color orange, the power center, out of the image. I had been so focused on other aspects of the illustration that I didn’t notice this omission even though I knew it belonged there. This discovery blew me away even more and has left me thinking a lot about the power of imagery and the many levels that entails whether creating or viewing.

If anyone has any thoughts about this I would love to know them.

Meanwhile, check out my Chakra T-shirts.

Thanks for your comment Anita. Yes, that was a most interesting experience. Strange – makes me think.

I’d like to ask you a question here – if you see it – Do you see the message above that says, “Possibly related posts – automatically generated. Etc. ” Where does that come from?

I think that might be a wordpress hosted blogs way of networking or advertising. I’m not really sure, I don’t remember any of those on mine before I moved it. I have seen them on other blogs here and there though.

Hi Adele… I had those automatically generated links the first week while my blog was WordPress-hosted. They disappeared when I transferred to my own site. (A good thing too — I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen those links.)

I find your story fascinating. I was fortunate enough, for about 5 years, to go to a masso-therapist who practice Reiki as well as other techniques. I would have been spooked by all she could see and do, had I not known her personally and also read about the seven levels of chakras some time before. Laura could see my energy and aura out of whack as I walked in. More that once, I lay there for an hour while she worked my energy — never touching me — and when she finished, I left practically floating on air. Full of energy working as it should.

So I don’t find it unbelievable — it’s just one of those truths we don’t see, so we don’t understand. All matter has energy — is composed of it. That much we know. But for some to see the colors of that energy, and how they work together for our good, or not, IS incredible!

    Hi Barb,

Thanks for your comments. They are well appreciated. And I enjoyed reading of your experience with Reiki.

One thing I would like to emphasize here is that not only was my entire experience – almost passing out and then a person there to rescue me in a very not usual way. But what freaked me and impressed me the most was that I had been working on the image of the chakras. No one knew that – but then on top of that to go home and find that I had left out the color for the so called out of order chakra. Too weird. However, when something happens to me, as opposed to reading a theory about it, the impact is beyond even the telling in words.

My experience has mostly been that if I tell a person something that happened to me and they are not familiar with the content or THAT kind of experience, it is dismissed as fantasy, or wishful thinking, or what ever.

What I was left with in this experience was more questions than any answer. And a deep wonder about the power of expression in any format, colors, meditation, creating art — all of it. I feel there was some kind of big lesson for me in that experience.

    Just thinking out loud here.

    Adele

I failed to address that most important point, Adele. Not on purpose… I don’t believe in coincidence, but do believe all is somehow tied together on a level we do not see nor can we “prove.” Truth is bigger than verbal or visual explanation. But it exists all the same.

I don’t question what happened to you. Nor do I think it’s fantasy or wishful thinking. I think you are blessed to understand the significance as much as you do. There are dimensions we do not sense, yet they are there and are mathematically provable. (Not by me. :) )
